The Wind Data Logger is designed to provide an affordable and easy-to-use solution to wind site evaluation and monitoring wind generator performance. It records wind speed, gust, and direction, time and date, temperature, battery voltage, and other important wind parameters. The Wind Data logger easily supports both simple and complex monitoring applications. The data logger can be used to record wind speed from a single anemometer, or it can be used for complex studies involving multiple wind instruments and other sensors.
The Wind Data Logger records directly to a Secure Digital (SD™) card. No special computer interface cables are required and the software can easily be viewed and analyzed using standard spreadsheet software.
Using custom and off the shelf hardware and software, APRS World can build whatever data logging system you need. We supply simple systems for wind site analysis and complex data logging systems with many sensors and live data streaming to the Internet.

APO3 is a black box designed to prevent a vehicle battery from being discharged and damaged by a DC load. Typically, it is used to switch a radio transceiver off 10 minutes after the vehicle is shut off.
This is for use with mobile APRS stations. It allows the radio to transmit a few position reports after the vehicle is shut off and then it turns off the radio and GPS to reduce clutter on the APRS channel and prevent the vehicle battery from discharging.

The Wind Monitor II is a basic wind speed display and data logger for a single anemometer. It is designed for wind generator monitoring and site analysis. It features an easy-to-read green LED display that shows the wind speed. When used as a data logger, it can record up to 32,768 instantaneous wind speeds to its non-volatile memory. For programmers and hardware hackers, the source code is available under the GNU GPL license.

The WrenDAQ2 is a compact, turbine top data acquisition unit. It is designed to collect critical performance data for small turbine developers and testers. The WrenDAQ2 uses a license free 900 MHz data modem to transfer data to your PC. Because the WrenDAQ2 is powered by the DC voltage from your turbine, there are no additional cables to run; this allows adding data acquisition without adding additional slip rings for the signals.
The WrenDAQ was developed to meet the needs of one of our customers. We can produce a custom or semi-custom WrenDAQ to meet your exact needs. Wind2DB is free software for monitoring, logging, and broadcasting data from you Wind Data Logger or WrenDAQ. The software is written in Java and can run on Windows, Linux, Unix, or Macintosh computers.

Digi International makes a wonderful line of 802.15.4 XBee modems. They are fast, power, and reliable short range modems. The only downside to the modems is that they aren't readily available. Often the lead times are 6 weeks or more. Faced with too long of lead time and a short-deadline project, APRS World designed our own external USB modem that uses a Digi XBee-PRO modem. This production functionally similar to Digi's XBee-PRO PKG modem package.
Our XBee-PRO modem is perfectly compatible with Digi's -- because we use a Digi RF modem module. USB interface is provided by an FTDI FT232RL USB to serial converter IC.
